Loki's story

Why FIP Together exists

Loki is a Siamese cat, born in March 2023. In October 2026 he was diagnosed with suspected feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), and his veterinarian prescribed a course of antiviral treatment given every twelve hours.

Over the weeks before and during his treatment, Loki had several examinations and blood tests, and at different times was prescribed other medications alongside the antiviral, each with its own schedule and instructions.

What was hard

  • Managing several medications with different schedules.
  • Remembering whether a dose had already been given, especially with more than one person helping.
  • Keeping test results and reports from multiple visits organised.
  • Noticing and remembering changes in appetite, weight, temperature and mobility to discuss with the vet.
  • Understanding how far through a long treatment course he was.
  • Finding reliable information, and other people who understood.

Phone alarms, notebooks, spreadsheets and photos of paper reports helped, but nothing brought it together. Loki's owner built FIP Together to be the tool they wished they'd had, and to make it free for everyone else going through the same thing.

For every cat, not just Loki

FIP Together is inspired by Loki, but it's designed for any owner whose cat is being treated for FIP. Every cat has their own plan, set by their own veterinarian. The app's job is simply to help you follow it, record it, and talk about it with your vet.
